Valley Soccer Camps at James Madison



James Madison Soccer Camps offer instructional and competitive soccer camps to include the tactics and techniques of the game. JMU Soccer Camp does this by holding daily matches, grouping campers by age and ability, and maintaining a small coach to player ratio. Valley Soccer Camps at JMU take pride in their outstanding, top level coaching staff and their coaches are eager to share their experience and training with their campers.

Staff Biographies

Almost all trainers are college anduniversity level coaches with either US< NSCAA and FIFA licenses. College players, both present and former work as camp counselors.
Tom Martin - Camp Director, Men's Head Coach
(, James Madison University)

Tom Martin is the camp director of Valley Soccer Camps and JMU and has been the head coach of soccer at James Madison for the past twenty years. Coach Martin holds a USSF "A" Coaching License. Before coaching at JMU, Martin was a two time MVP on a Davis and Elkins collegiate team which won two national championships. Coach Martin graduated from West Virginia University with a Masters in Physical Education and a Doctorates in Education. Coach Martin is also a staff member of the Virginia Olympic Development Program.
Athletic trainers are on site 24 hours a day. The entire staff is required to reside in the university dormitories with the campers.

Frequently Asked Questions
What should I bring to Valley Soccer Camp at JMU?
All campers should bring appropriate playing clothing, protective gear, indoor and outdoor soccer shoes, a soccer ball, water bottle and sunscreen. All campers will also be responsible for bringing their own bed linens as well.
My parents are asking about insurance, what are your policies?
All campers MUST have insurance. The camp will provide secondary medical coverage.
What is your policy regarding deposits and cancellations?
Please notify us as soon as possible if you need to cancel and will not be attending one of our sessions. All deposits are non-refundable.
What facilities will I be playing on when I come to camp?
Campers will be playing on excellent grass and three new field turf facilities. Valley Soccer Camps also has numerous indoor areas in the event of poor weather.
What is the schedule like for the first day of camp?
On the first day of camp after checking in, campers will attend an evaluation session and then the first actual training session.
What will I get for coming to JMU Soccer Camps?
All campers will receive a free camp tee-shirt as well as other promotional camp equipment.
