Florida Gulf Coast University Soccer Camps

The Gulf Coast Soccer Academy is based on a simple coaching principle: young people learn and develop skills more quickly and effectively when they are having fun. Our main objective is to teach each player how to fully reach their potential as a soccer player. We have designed our learning exercises and functional training games to develop individual techniques, skills and team tactics through creative and motivating sessions. All of this will be achieved in an environment of positive reinforcement and communication designed to enrich each individuals total soccer experience. Every exercise at the camp will be conducted in relation to the ball. Each and every player will develop a better appreciation of how to run, play and think as a total soccer player.

How do I get in touch with my child at overnight camp? Can I leave a message for my child while he/she is at camp?
You may call the North Lake Village Commons front desk at 239-590-1799. The front desk staff will get your message to someone on the camp staff, who will relay your message to your child. In case of emergency, the North Lake Village Commons staff will have a cell number to reach the camp director immediately.
Will my child need bed linens and toiletries?
Yes! All campers will need a pillow and bed linens for a twin bed. You will also need to send toiletries and towels with your camper.
How much spending money should I send with my camper?
The only money that campers will need is for snacks. We recommend campers bring no more than $25-30. Although meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are covered through registration fees, most campers want a snack after the evening session. Campers will be responsible for their own money.
How many campers will there be in each apartment room?
Each apartment is comprised of four single bedrooms with a total capacity of four students. If your camper is attending as part of an odd-numbered group, we will do our best to allow them to stay together, although there are no guarantees.
How will the campers get from the residences to the field?
Campers will take a short 10-minute walk from North Lake Village to the FGCU Soccer Complex or recreation fields for all but a few soccer-related activities. Note that counselors and coaches walk with the campers to the field.
What does each camper receive?
Each camper receives a camp t-shirt and a soccer ball.
Do I really need to complete the medical release form?
Yes! If we do not have your camper’s medical release form on file, your camper will not be allowed to participate in camp activities. This is a Florida Gulf Coast University policy, not simply a camp rule.
