| Frequently Asked Questions |

Can a 9 year old attend the residential summer camps?
Unfortunately this is not a straightforward situation. We have found in the past that 9 year olds tend to struggle with homesickness, and while the final call is up to the parents, we strongly reccommend that the family waits until their child is 10 years or older before participating in the residential summer camps. If you do decide to send your child to the camp, please note that they may play with and against 11, 12, and 13 year olds.

What should I do with the medical/insurance forms? Mail/fax it in or send it with my child?
You can do either. Mail/fax it in and we will file it with your child's week of camp. Or you can have your child bring it into registration.

Will my child's room be air-conditioned?
YES!

If my child is flying in, what should he/she do when they get off the plane?
Unfortunatley due to heightened security at airports, we cannot greet the campers at the gate. Therefore, your child should proceed to baggage claim where he/she will be met by greeters from the camp who will be dressed in camp gear. The staff will have a list of arriving campers, and they will be looking for each one as the flights come in. The shuttle ride from DIA to CU take about 30 minutes. When returning to the airport, campers will be dropped off at the curb in front of their respective airline counters. We cannot check in each camper individually because of staff availabilty.

What are the best times for flights, should my child fly into camp?
Arriving between 8-10 am and departing between 3-5pm. These times are guidelines which will minimize your child's wait once he/she arrives, and assures their arrival back at the airport in time for their flight out. Other times can be accommadated by our shuttle, so don't feel constrained by these times. Some campers can't leave until late in the evening on the day of check-in, and many do not leave until 5-6 pm on the evening of check-out.

Can my child arrive a day early?
Yes, but we try to avoid this if possible. For those who cannot find a flight on the day of check-in, we can offer to check you in a day early. A cost of $30 per person for the room will be incurred, and campers will be on their own for meals. Staff can assist them in finding a place to eat, should the dining facilities be closed. Shuttle service to and from the airport will also be available.

Will my child's roommate request be honored?
Most likely, but we do not guarantee this. We will make every effort to honor roommate requests. Most rooms will be doubles, but in some case (very few) triples will be available. In cases where campers request more than one roommate or a group of friends all requested the same person, we will make a selection. Requests for blocks of rooms near each other can be requested, as well. We will not assign roommates to rooms until one week prior to camp, therefore you have up until that time to change, if need be.
